Like many new website or business owners you may be struggling to come up with content for your website.
Coming up with web content isn’t just about typing away the first thing that pops into your head and hoping for the best. You should never just slap anything onto your website as there are methods of which you execute into your writing so it can serve a greater purpose which is of advantage to your website and your business.

Useful, beneficial and unique content – Before you can even think of anything else you must realise that our content needs to be unique. You should never copy and paste, even if you are posting on “your” blog and “your” website. Google and other search engines do not like this and as a result you will not get ranked for that specific content. So make sure your content is a single piece of unique writing wherever you post it. Not only must the content be unique but it needs to be useful as well. Why have content that somebody doesn’t want to read? Use your expertise and implement it into the text.
Add Keywords where appropriate – When you are writing your content you must always be thinking of where you can insert keywords. These must be keywords you want to target but remember not to go OTT as this will just confuse search engines and they are likely to not rank you for them. Also keep them relevant to the page they are on and the picture they appear on so the content still makes sense and can still be read when they are in place.
Easy to read text – It is best to make sure it’s easy on the eye, don’t create masses of text as people will be put off from it in an instant and probably won’t read it. Using things like bullet points, heading and bold text can really break it up and give the illusion that the text is an easy read and people are more likely to read it until the end.
Point in the right direction – Whatever subject it is that you are talking about in the text, point your reader or website visitor in a direction of which they can find more information on the subject. Whether it is an article which inspired you to write your content or a new product you may be selling. This will gain a link which will help optimise your site (Read number 5) which is good if the content was inspired by something on your site. It may result in the reader purchasing something from your site.
Internal linking – If you participate in SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) then it will be clear to you that the larger amount of links you have to your website online then the higher your website will rank in search engines. It is appropriate to add links wherever you have a keyword that could link to another page on your website and it will help you rank better and overall help your Marketing strategy. The more links you have will mean you rank higher.

4. Provide other links that your readers can explore. Online users usually spend only 30 seconds on one page. So, instead of putting all the information you have on one page, create more pages within your website and just link them together. This will help you promote further reading without making your articles look lengthy and boring.
5. Link with other websites to build trust. Online users are having a hard time assessing the accuracy of the information that they find online. This is the reason why they visit several websites because they can be convinced that the information they gather is factual. Consider citing resources on your articles and link with other webmasters who are running reliable websites (convince these people to do the same). Afraid that your readers will spend more time on the other website? Well, there is no need to feel that way. Online users will always come back to the websites that contain “click worthy” links. Also, you need not to worry as long as you load up your website with high quality, valuable articles.
6. Don’t save the best for last. You need to put your best foot forward when writing your first couple of sentences. It’s very important that you make a great impression at this point so you can get your audience to read on. In here, you will need to convince your audience that something great awaits them and that they cannot afford to pass up the opportunity of reading your articles until the end. Offer these people the best information you have upfront.
7. Use keywords. Use every article you write to add keyword power to your website. Write them based on the most recent algorithms of search engines. Make them keyword-rich without sacrificing the quality of your content. To avoid issues about keyword abuse, use a particular term/phrase just once for every 100 words and make sure that you follow the recommended keyword density.
